It has just been discovered that a couple of those slippin’ and slidin’ Republicans secretly inserted a new gun control measure into the stimulus package. The gun dealer must inquire as to whether the prospective buyer voted for Obama, and if so, must sell him the new gun for liberals. They anticipate great sales success in states like New York, Illinois, New Hampshire, Connecticut and some parts of California. Click on the link below to see the new gun.

Cowboy Six Shooter Historical Foundation
We are pleased to announce creation of the “Cowboy Six Shooter Historical Foundation”.
Bob Graham, Steve Letsinger and others have been working on this venture for several months. While our plan was to officially announce before the end of the year, recent Hall of Fame suggestion activity at the Gunfighter Zone prompts this timely broadcast.
The Cowboy Six Shooter is the World wide recognized icon of the American Cowboy. The words “Six Shooter” were even etched on some revolver barrels at the Colt factory. In testimony to its lasting legacy, versions of the famous Colt Single Action Army revolver design are manufactured around the World today.

The Classic Western Movie Red River
This is an old posting that I retrieved after the Destruction of my site: Cowboys, Indians, Cattle, and Six-Shooters,in an wild west setting. Couple that with a legendary actor like John Wayne and you have a classic western movie like Red River. That was the subject of the Alamo Fast Draw show Wednesday night. The regulars were there with me on the show and a few a guest stop by to join in. But all in all it was a good show and we had a lot of fun with some of the questions and comments on the movie red river.
As usual we drifted off subject now and again but when we did it usually ended up with some good tid-bits on western history. One subject we touched on was the manner of speech that was commonly used in the west. It wasn't interesting topic and I may see if I can put together more info on that in the future. The manner of dress seems to be the subject of debate that I might look into as well. You can find the Alamo Fast Draw show on Sunday nights 9:00 PM eastern, 8:00 PM central and 6:00 PM Pacific.

Virgil and Doc Holiday
Update from Alamo Fast Draw
Why did Vigil give Holiday that shotgun:
Virgil Earp handed Doc Holiday a shotgun at Harford corner just before the journey down Fremont street to face down the Mclaury's and the Clantons. Virgil was the chief of police said it was his decision to involve Doc Holiday in the matter. Accounts from the time show Wyatt told dock that it was not his fight.
Virgil never seemed to like Doc so that makes for Virgil's decision to hand Doc a shotgun even more interesting. Later Virgil Earp would tell reporters " there was something about Doc. Doc was a friendly man, the good dentist, and gentlemanly.
Later Virgil's wife Allie recounts to writer Frank Waters plenty of her feelings toward Doc Holiday." He wasn't smart or witty. He was cold and disagreeable and I never liked him nor did anyone else".
The fact is in her account of the eve of the gunfight at the O.K. Coral. She stated her surprise when Virgil came home the evening of the gunfight and ask Doc is anything was up. " Oh I've been trying to keep Ike Clanton and Doc from killing each other". Why didn't you let 'em go ahead? Neither one amounts to much.
It may have been better for Virgil Earp if he had let Ike Clanton and Doc Holiday kill each other. But that was not Virgil's style. Virgil had established a good reputation as chief of police in tombstone. Even if Virgil had not taken the quarrel serious he could not let it pass.
Well back to Virgil's decision to make Doc a special officer on that afternoon of the fight at the O.K. Coral. Virgil told a reporter in 1882" he went to my brothers, Wyatt, and Morgan, and Doc Holiday and asked them to help me disarm the party" second guessing himself was not Virgil's way.
Maybe the best way Virgil describes his decision to include Doc Holiday was when he said to another newspaper man was Doc " one of our friends". He was a slender sickly fellow, but when the stage was robbed or a row started Doc was one of the first to saddle his horse a report for duty.
On the afternoon of October 26th 1881, Virgil needed help from someone he could count on. He knew Doc had sand and that he could count on Doc.
